Privacy Policy

Placeholder for the closed beta — last updated 9 July 2026. This will be replaced by a reviewed policy before public launch.

1. Who we are

HeyPopper is an experimental prototype operated from the United Kingdom. For any privacy question or request, reply to your beta invitation email.

2. What we collect

Account details (email, name, and sign-in identifiers); shopping profiles you choose to create (such as sizes, interests, and budget preferences, for yourself or people you shop for); your conversations with the shopping assistant; and usage events (searches, product views, basket and checkout activity) tied to a session identifier.

3. How we use it

To operate the service: personalising recommendations, remembering your preferences, processing test or real checkouts, and understanding how the beta is used so we can improve it. Conversations are processed by third-party AI providers acting as our processors. We do not sell personal data.

4. Legal basis

We rely on legitimate interests in operating and improving an invited beta, and on consent where required (which you may withdraw at any time by leaving the beta).

5. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, and you can delete individual profile facts yourself in the app. Every remembered fact about a profile is traceable to where it came from and removable. To exercise any right, reply to your invitation email; you may also complain to the ICO.

6. Retention

Beta data is retained for the duration of the beta and deleted or anonymised within 90 days of the beta ending, unless we are required to keep it longer (for example, records of real transactions).
